Media Applications: Disney are very popular for their animated films, including the short films they have created. They have come a long way over the years and is very well known over the world due to Merchandise stores, Disney cruises and the most popular one Disney land, Outside of the two original resort areas in the United States, Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida, the Disneyland in Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong offer subtly different selections of food, rides and layout to make the millions of visitors each year feel at home. Walt Disney have made Pixar well known and has come out with the best known animated films in the world.
Types of animations: There are many different styles and types of animation, Walt Disney has used many of them, he started hand drawing his own 2D cel animation, which had the income of Mickey Mouse who is the most iconic Disney character! Walt Disney worked with Alice Comedies featuring cartoons and a live actress.
After the success of Alice Comedies they did the same thing and came out with Mary Poppins and Bread-knobs and Broomsticks which was a huge success!
Disney also often used rotoscoping which was a very helpful animation technique. They would use actors and actresses to act out a scene and then trace over their figures and sketch in details.
To cut down on cost disney turned to using xerography, this was used in 101 Dalmatians, as it was easier to duplicate the puppies. This was also used in Winnie The Pooh.
Disney often uses CGI for the full length films, this became competitive with Dreamworks which were also very successful with films such as Shrek. Disney began to use 3D computer animated films like Chicken little. This film was less successful. Over the recent years Disney used the same technique for films that became a huge success such as Frozen, Big Hero 6 and Wreck it Ralph.
