LO1: Task 2 Analysis of one animation

Genre: The Genre of Disney varies, as they do family friendly films they don't involve genres such as horror or action, but adventure, Fantasy, comedy and musicals are all incorporated into the films. 

Individual Animators: Nik Ranieri is a former character animator for Walt Disney Animation Studios. He has been supervising animator of many characters, and remained so until his layoff in 2013. He was the creator of the popular Disney film Wreck it Ralph and successfully used CGI to achieve the outcome of his animations. 

Production process: Disney workers, would present there works after 12 weeks which would help their idea grow and improve as the would receive constructive criticism and feedback. This helps because then as a time they can achieve amazing goals and come out with an amazing final piece of work the audience will love.



Narrative/storyline: Peter Pan was originally called the boy who wouldn't grow up. The original idea was about Neverland being heaven and Peter Pan would take the children there. Disney changed the storyline completely to this as it was a little to dark for kids. Peter Pan is about a boy who comes down to the children to tell them about this amazing place they would never have to grow up "Neverland" his companion Tinkerbell is a pixie and she could sprinkle her magic dust on the kids to help them fly to Neverland with her and Peter Pan. Neverland is the giant magical place that contains lots of fun and adventures which the kids would do! But eventually the kids become home sick and can't get home which causes a lot of problems with everyones friendship. They come across evil enemies such as Captain Hook. Eventually the kids do make it home after lots of struggle and fighting. Then they say their goodbyes to Peter Pan forever and they all grow up and live their normal lives. 

Target audience: Peter Pan is universal, so anyone can watch it, but it is mainly appealed to children, but is still a family film. It is all very unrealistic and based on imagination so for sure something kids would want to watch. I think it is mainly targeted more at young boys as it includes a lot of adventure, pirates and mainly boy characters. It is not your typical princess disney film for girls. 

Characters/stars:
Peter Pan is the main character who is played by Bobby Driscoll, who also played Jim Hawkins is Treasure Island, the whole film is mainly about Peter Pan, hence the title.
Wendy Darling is the oldest child who is beginning adulthood, and is very frightened, which is why she wants to go to Neverland. She is played by a woman called Kathryn Beaumont who also plays Alice in Alice in Wonderland. 
Captain Hook is the Villain in Peter Pan, he is actually quite a coward and useless which adds some humour to the film, he is played by a man called Hans Conreid who also plays Thorin in the original Hobbit film in 1977.
